Al-Hakam bin Hayyan al-Muharibi narrates from Sayyiduna Aban al-Muharibi (may Allah be pleased with him), who was among the delegation of the Abd al-Qays tribe that came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whichever Muslim servant recites this in the morning:
'Alhamdu lillahi rabbi, la ushriku bihi shay'an, wa ashhadu an la ilaha illallah' (All praise belongs to Allah alone, who is my Lord; I do not associate anyone as a partner with Him, and I bear witness that there is no god except Allah).
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: his sins will continue to be forgiven until evening comes, and if a person recites these words in the evening, his sins will continue to be forgiven until morning comes."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Aban bin Abi Ayyash, who is matruk (abandoned).
