Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet used to teach us that when we entered the morning we should recite:
'Asbahna 'ala fitratil-Islam, wa kalimatil-ikhlas, wa sunnati nabiyyina Muhammadin (peace and blessings be upon him), wa millati abina Ibrahima hanifan musliman, wa ma kana minal-mushrikin'
"We have entered the morning upon the natural way of Islam, the word of sincerity, the Sunnah of our Prophet, Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the religion of our forefather Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him), who was an upright Muslim and was not of those who associate partners with Allah." And when evening comes, the person should recite the same.
Abdullah recorded it; its chain contains Isma'il bin Yahya bin Salamah bin Kuhayl, who is matruk (abandoned).
