Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 16989

Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "None of you should abandon doing one thousand good deeds every day for the sake of Allah Almighty. When he enters the morning, let him recite: 'Bismillah, Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi' (In the name of Allah, seeking blessing; Allah Almighty is free of every imperfection and to Him alone belongs all praise). Let him recite these words 100 times, and they will be one thousand good deeds for him. If Allah wills, that person will not commit that many sins on that day, and whatever good deeds he does besides this will be an additional increase."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains Abu Bakr bin Abdullah bin Abi Maryam, who is da'if (weak).
