Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That I sit with people who remember Allah after the Fajr prayer, and remain sitting until the sun rises, is more beloved to me than freeing four persons from the descendants of Sayyiduna Isma'il (peace be upon him), the blood money of each one of whom is 12,000. And that I remain sitting with people who remember Allah from after the Asr prayer until the sun sets would be more beloved to me than freeing four such persons from the descendants of Sayyiduna Isma'il (peace be upon him), the blood money of each one of whom is 12,000."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Abu Dawud recorded this narration in abridged form.
Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains Muhtasib Abu A'idh, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy) and others declared da'if (weak); the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
