Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 16935

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray two rak'ahs before true dawn, then, while remaining at his place of prayer, he would recite: 'Allahumma rabba Jibrila wa Mika'ila, wa rabba Israfila, wa rabba Muhammadin, a'udhu bika min al-nar' (O Allah, Lord of Jibril and Mika'il, and Lord of Israfil, and Lord of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), I seek refuge in You from Hell). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would go out for the prayer. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
Al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) recorded something similar, except that he did not mention in it the restriction to the two rak'ahs of Fajr.
Abu Ya'la recorded it from his teacher Sufyan bin Waki', and he is da'if (weak).
