Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Abu Hurayrah, shall I not guide you to a word that is one of the treasures of Paradise beneath the Throne?" The narrator says: I said: "Yes! May my father and mother be ransomed for you." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.'" The narrator Abu Balj says: I think the narration also contains these words: "Allah Almighty says: 'My servant has submitted and surrendered himself in obedience.'" The narrator says: I said to Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): "Are the words 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah'?" He said: "No! These words are in Surah al-Kahf:
'And why, when you entered your garden, did you not say: What Allah willed (came to pass), and nothing can happen except with the help of Allah Almighty?' [Al-Kahf: 39]"
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Al-Tirmidhi recorded a hadith from this Companion other than this narration.
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Bazzar recorded something similar, except that he recorded these words: "Shall I not guide you to a word from the treasure of Paradise beneath the Throne?" The narrators of both narrations are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Abu Balj al-Kabir, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
