Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 16841

Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has chosen four phrases from speech for you; they are not the Qur'an, yet they are part of the Qur'an: 'Subhanallah, wal-hamdu lillah, wa la ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar' (Glory be to Allah, all praise is for Allah, there is no deity except Allah, and Allah is the Greatest)."
Tabarani recorded it, and Bazzar recorded something similar; its chain contains a narrator, Mu'awiyah bin Yahya al-Sadafi, who is da'if (weak), and the narrations that Ishaq bin Sulayman al-Razi transmitted from him are weaker still,
and this narration is one of them.
