Book of Remembrance
بَابٌ : ذِكْرُ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى فِي الْأَحْوَالِ كُلِّهَا ، وَالصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - .
Remembering Allah in all circumstances, and sending blessings and peace upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ جَلَسُوا مَجْلِسًا لَمْ يَذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ فِيهِ إِلَّا كَانَ عَلَيْهِمْ تِرَةً ، وَمَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ مَشَى طَرِيقًا فَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - إِلَّا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ تِرَةً ، وَمَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ أَوَى إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - إِلَّا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ تِرَةً " .
قُلْتُ : عِنْدَ التِّرْمِذِيِّ بَعْضُهُ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَأَبُو إِسْحَاقَ : مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ ، لَمْ يُوَثِّقْهُ أَحَدٌ ، وَلَمْ يَجْرَحْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِ أَحَدِ إِسْنَادَيْ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
قُلْتُ : عِنْدَ التِّرْمِذِيِّ بَعْضُهُ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَأَبُو إِسْحَاقَ : مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ ، لَمْ يُوَثِّقْهُ أَحَدٌ ، وَلَمْ يَجْرَحْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِ أَحَدِ إِسْنَادَيْ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whenever some people sit in a gathering and do not remember Allah Almighty in it, it will be a cause of loss or regret for them; and when a person walks along a path without remembering Allah Almighty, it will be a cause of loss or regret for him; and whoever goes to his bed without remembering Allah Almighty, it will be a cause of loss or regret for him." (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: Tirmidhi recorded part of it.
Ahmad recorded it; Abu Ishaq, the freed slave of Abdullah bin al-Harith bin Nawfal, has been declared trustworthy by no one, nor has anyone criticised him. The rest of the narrators of one of Ahmad's two chains are the narrators of the Sahih.
