بَابٌ فِيمَنْ يَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى .

عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَقُولُ اللَّهُ : يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ ، إِنْ ذَكَرْتَنِي فِي نَفْسِكَ ذَكَرْتُكَ فِي نَفْسِي ، وَإِنْ ذَكَرْتَنِي فِي مَلَأٍ ذَكَرْتُكَ فِي مَلَأٍ [ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ أَوْ فِي مَلَأٍ ] خَيْرٍ مِنْهُ ، وَإِنْ دَنَوْتَ مِنِّي شِبْرًا دَنَوْتُ مِنْكَ ذِرَاعًا ، وَإِنْ دَنَوْتَ مِنِّي ذِرَاعًا دَنَوْتُ مِنْكَ بَاعًا ، وَإِنْ أَتَيْتَنِي تَمْشِي أَتَيْتُكَ أُهَرْوِلُ " .
قَالَ قَتَادَةُ : وَاللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَسْرَعُ بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
قَالَ قَتَادَةُ : وَاللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَسْرَعُ بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty says: 'O son of Adam, if you remember Me within yourself, I will remember you in private; and if you remember Me in a gathering, I will remember you in a gathering of angels (the narrator is unsure, or perhaps the words are:) I will remember you in a gathering better than it. If you come towards Me a handspan, I will come towards you a cubit (dhira', that is, the length from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger); if you draw near to Me a cubit, I will draw near to you a fathom (ba', the span of both outstretched arms); and if you come to Me walking, I will come to you running.'" Qatadah said: Allah Almighty is the quickest (that is, extremely quick) to forgive.
