وَعَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ : قَدِمَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وُفُودُ الْعَرَبِ ، فَلَمْ يَقْدَمْ عَلَيْنَا وَفْدٌ أَقْسَى قُلُوبًا ، وَلَا أَحْرَى أَنْ يَكُونَ الْإِسْلَامُ لَمْ يَقَرَّ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مِنْ بَنِي حَنِيفَةَ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْوَاقِدِيِّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The delegations of the Arabs used to come to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). No delegation came to us harder of heart than Banu Hanifah, nor more likely than them to be such that Islam had not settled in their hearts.
