Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) states: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us while we were sitting. We made room for him and he (peace and blessings be upon him) sat down. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Where are those Companions of mine, of whom I am and who are of me? When I enter Paradise, they will enter it with me." We said: "O Messenger of Allah! Will you tell us?" (That is, who is meant by this?) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! They are the people of Yemen, who are pushed away to the far ends of the earth and turned away from the doors of the rulers; one of them dies with his need still in his breast, never having fulfilled it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a group of narrators about whom there is disagreement.
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Before this, some hadith have passed on the virtues of the various Arab tribes, which also include mention of the people of Yemen.
