وَعَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِذَا ذَلَّتِ الْعَرَبُ ذَلَّ الْإِسْلَامُ " . رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، ضَعَّفَهُ الْأَزْدِيُّ وَغَيْرُهُ ، وَوَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When the Arabs become humiliated, Islam will become weak."
Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains Muhammad bin al-Khattab al-Basri, whom al-Azdi and others declared da'if (weak), while Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy). The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
