عَنْ سَعْدٍ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ - أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ لِبَنِي نَاجِيَةَ : " ، أَنَا مِنْهُمْ ، وَهُمْ مِنِّي " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ مُتَّصِلًا وَمُرْسَلًا بِاخْتِصَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَخٍ لِسَعْدٍ ، وَلَمْ يَسِمِّهِ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) states: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about Banu Najiyah: "I am from them and they are from me."
Ahmad recorded it both connected (muttasil) and mursal, in abridged form; he recorded it from a nephew of Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), but did not name him. The remaining narrators of both are the narrators of the Sahih.
