Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to visit a man of the Ansar who was ill. When he came near his house, he heard the sound of someone talking inside. When he asked permission and went in, he did not see anyone. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the man: "I heard you talking with someone?" He said: "O Messenger of Allah! Distressed by people's talk because of my fever, I went into the inner room, and a man came in to me. After you, I have not seen anyone who sits more graciously or speaks better than him." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That was Jibril. And among you there are men such that if one of them were to swear an oath by Allah, Allah Almighty would fulfil it."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chains are hasan (good).
