وَعَنْ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " الْإِيمَانُ يَمَانٌ [ وَرَدْءُ ] الْإِيمَانِ فِي قَحْطَانَ ، وَالْقَسْوَةُ فِي وَلَدِ عَدْنَانَ ، حِمْيَرُ رَأْسُ الْعَرَبِ وَنَابُهَا ، وَمَذْحِجٌ هَامَتُهَا وَعِصْمَتُهَا ، وَالْأَزْدُ كَاهِلُهَا وَجُمْجُمَتُهَا ، وَهَمْدَانُ غَارِبُهَا وَذُرْوَتُهَا ، اللَّهُمَّ أَعِزَّ الْأَنْصَارَ الَّذِينَ أَقَامَ اللَّهُ بِهِمْ الدِّينُ ، الَّذِينَ آوَوْا ، وَنَصَرُوا ، وَحَمَوْنِي ، وَهُمْ أَصْحَابِي فِي الدُّنْيَا ، وَشِيعَتِي فِي الْآخِرَةِ ، وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي " . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .
Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Faith is Yemeni, the helpers of faith are in Qahtan, and harshness is in the descendants of Adnan. Himyar are the head and root of the Arabs; al-Azd are their kahil (upper back) and skull; Madhhij are their head and their protection; and Hamdan are their neck and hump. O Allah, give honour to the Ansar, through whom Allah Almighty established the religion, who gave refuge, helped and protected me. They are my companions in this world and my party in the Hereafter, and of my Ummah they will be the first to enter Paradise."
