Zayd bin Sa'd narrates from his father: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed that he would soon depart from this world, he came out of his house with a cloth wrapped around his head, until he sat on the pulpit. The people learned of him and the people of the market learned of it, and they all came to the mosque. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), after praising and extolling Allah Almighty, said: "O people! Guard my rights concerning this tribe of the Ansar, for they are my special close companions. Accept the good of those among them who are good, and overlook the wrongdoer among them."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration. Its chain contains Zayd bin Sa'd bin Zayd al-Ashhali, whom I do not know, and the remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
