Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 16443

Sayyiduna Abu Burdah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A man will emerge from al-Kahinan (the two Kahin tribes) who will study the Qur'an in such a way that no one after him will study it."
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani also recorded it. Its chain mentions that Abdullah bin Mughith narrated it from his father, from his grandfather, and I do not know Abdullah or his father; however, Ibn Abi Hatim has mentioned Abdullah and Imam al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) has mentioned his father, and no one has criticised either of them.
