Abu Ubaydah bin Abdullah narrates: Whenever al-Rabi' bin Khuthaym came to Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), no one was given permission to come in to Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) until the two of them had finished their conversation with each other. The narrator says: Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Abu Yazid! If the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had seen you, he would have loved you, and whenever I see you, I am reminded of the mukhbitin (the humble ones)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
