بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْقَرْنِ الْأَوَّلِ وَمَنْ تَبِعَهُمْ
Reports on the first generation and those who followed them
Majma al-Zawaid 16404 — Reports on the first generation and those
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ : " الْقَرْنُ الَّذِي بُعِثْتُ فِيهِمْ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ " .
رَوَاهَا كُلَّهَا أَحْمَدُ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى بِاخْتِصَارٍ ، وَرِجَالُهَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

In one narration the wording is: "The generation in which I was sent, then the generation of those after them, then the generation of those after them, then of those after them, then the generation of those after them." Imam Ahmad recorded all these narrations, and Imam Abu Ya'la recorded them in abridged form, and their narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
