وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ : " أَنْتُمْ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَبْنَائِكُمْ ، وَأَبْنَاؤُكُمْ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَبْنَائِهِمْ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his Companions: "You are better than your children, and your children are better than their children."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, al-Hasan bin Abi Ja'far, and he is matruk (abandoned).
