Sayyiduna Muhammad bin Hatib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: My mother brought me from the land of Abyssinia, at the time when my father, Sayyiduna Hatib (may Allah be pleased with him), had passed away. My mother brought me along to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); my hand had been burned by fire. My mother said: "O Messenger of Allah! This is Muhammad bin Hatib, your nephew; he has suffered this burn from fire." Sayyiduna Muhammad bin Hatib (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I will not attribute anything false to Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him); I do not remember exactly whether the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) blew over me or passed his hand over my head (one of the two happened), and then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for blessing for me and for my descendants.
Tabarani recorded it; I do not know the narrator al-Harith bin Muhammad bin Hatib, and the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
