Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 16104

A man from Banu Qushayr, whose name is Sayyiduna Qurrah bin Hubayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates that he came into the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Previously, besides Allah Almighty, we had other lords, male and female. We used to call upon them, and they would not answer us; we used to ask of them, and they would give nothing. Then we came to you, and Allah Almighty guided us through you, so we will worship Allah Almighty." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Successful indeed is the one who has been granted understanding." He submitted: "O Messenger of Allah! Give me your clothing to wear, which you have worn." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave it to him. At Arafat, when he was standing at the station of standing (wuquf), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Repeat your words before me!" He repeated his words before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, successful is the one who has been granted understanding."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator who has not been named. The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
