Sa'id al-Maqburi narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Shurayh (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Whoever sees me quarrelling with a relative by marriage of mine, one who gave me his noble daughter in marriage and to whom I gave my noble daughter in marriage, then at that time I will have become insane, so cauterise my head. And whoever sees a young goat or milk of Abu Shurayh being sold, it is free for him to take. And whoever sees me disputing with my neighbour over a single brick, then I will have become insane, so cauterise my head."
The narrator says: A neighbour of his, whose name was Arfajah, tested him and took a portion of ten cubits from his house. The people said to him: "O Abu Shurayh! He has taken a portion of ten cubits from your house." He said: "He knows better." Later his neighbour returned that space to him and came back to (acknowledging) his right.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).
