عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَوْ أَتَانِي [ فِي هَؤُلَاءِ ] النَّتْنَى لَشَفَّعْتُهُ " . يَعْنِي : الْمُطْعِمَ بْنَ عَدِيٍّ ، فَأَسْلَمَ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ جُبَيْرٌ .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ قَوْلِهِ : فَأَسْلَمَ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ جُبَيْرٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ قَوْلِهِ : فَأَسْلَمَ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ جُبَيْرٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .
Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Had he come to me concerning these foul people (that is, the captives of the Battle of Badr), I would have accepted his intercession." By this the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant Mut'im bin Adi (the father of Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him)). The narrator says: On that occasion Sayyiduna Jubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam.
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: This report is in the Sahih, but these words are not in it: "On that occasion Sayyiduna Jubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).
