Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 15976

Khaythamah narrates that Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) stated: Before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent, I was a merchant. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent, I intended to combine trade and worship, but that did not work out, so I gave up trade and remained devoted to worship.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
