Yahya bin Bukayr said: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) passed away in Makkah after the Hajj. His kunyah was Abu Abd al-Rahman. He was buried at al-Muhassab, and some people say he was buried at "Fakhkh". When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted him to take part in the Battle of the Trench, he was fifteen years old, and the Battle of the Trench took place in the month of Shawwal in the year 4 AH; so at the time of his death his age would have been 84 years.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this report.
