Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) states: By Allah, it was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that when Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) was present, he would keep him close to himself, and when he was absent, he would inquire about him.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Abu Bakr bin Abi Maryam, who suffered from ikhtilat (confusion in memory).
