وَعَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ قَالَ : أَجْلَسَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي حِجْرِهِ ، وَمَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِي وَسَمَّانِي : " يُوسُفَ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ بِأَسَانِيدَ ، وَرِجَالُ إِسْنَادَيْنِ مِنْهَا ثِقَاتٌ . وَرَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِنَحْوِهِ وَقَالَ : وَدَعَا لِي بِالْبَرَكَةِ .
Sayyiduna Yusuf bin Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) seated me in his lap, he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed his hand over my head, and he named me "Yusuf".
Ahmad recorded it with various chains, and the narrators of two of those chains are thiqat (trustworthy).
Al-Tabarani recorded something similar to it, and he narrated these words: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for blessing for me."
