Muhammad bin Sirin narrates: Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was reciting poetry. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "O my brother! Has Allah Almighty not taught you something better than this?" Sayyiduna al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "Do you fear that I will die on my bed? By Allah, that will never happen, after the trial with which Allah Almighty has tested me. I have killed a hundred of the polytheists; among them are some whom I killed alone, and some in whose killing I took part."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Abu Hilal al-Rasibi, whom a group declared weak, though he has also been declared trustworthy, and Muhammad bin Sirin did not hear from Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him).
