Majma al-Zawaid 15726 — Reports on the virtue of Ubayy bin Ka'b
وَعَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ : مَاتَ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ فِي خِلَافَةِ عُمَرَ سَنَةَ ثِنْتَيْنِ وَعِشْرِينَ [ وَيَقُولُ بَعْضُهُمْ فِي خِلَافَةِ عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ] وَقَائِلٌ يَقُولُ : سَنَةَ ثَلَاثِينَ فِي خِلَافَةِ عُثْمَانَ .
Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Numayr said: Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) in 22 AH. Some have stated that he passed away during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), and someone said: It was in the year 30 AH, during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him).
