Majma al-Zawaid 15714 — The virtue of Mu'adh bin Jabal
وَعَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ قَالَ : قُبِضَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ أَوْ أَرْبَعٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ سَنَةً . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ مُرْسَلًا ، وَفِيهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَحَدِيثُهُ حَسَنٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sa'id bin al-Musayyab said: When Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, he was 33 or perhaps 34 years old.
Al-Tabarani recorded it as mursal (with a missing Companion link); its chain contains Ali bin Zayd, whose hadith is hasan (good), and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
