Sayyidah Asma' bint Yazid bin al-Sakan (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: "When Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) died, his mother began to cry out loudly. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: Your tears should stop and your grief should depart, for your son is the first person whom Allah Almighty met with a smile, and the Throne shook for him."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it, but he said: Sayyidah Asma' bint Yazid bin al-Sakan (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the funeral of Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) was brought out, his mother began to cry out loudly. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "Your tears should stop and your grief should depart." The rest of the narration is as before, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
