Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 15678

Al-Tabarani says: He is Sayyiduna al-Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) bin al-Aswad bin Amr, a participant of Badr. His kunyah is Abu Ma'bad, and according to one view Abu Amr. He is an ally of Banu Zuhrah. There is disagreement about his lineage. He was one of the early emigrants, and he has the honour of having taken part in the Battle of Badr.
