وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِنِّي دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ ، فَسَمِعْتُ خَشْفَةً بَيْنَ يَدَيْ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا جِبْرِيلُ ، مَا هَذِهِ الْخَشْفَةُ ؟ قَالَ : بِلَالٌ يَمْشِي أَمَامَكَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ وَالْكَبِيرِ بِنَحْوِهِ ، وَأَحْمَدُ فِي حَدِيثٍ طَوِيلٍ تَقَدَّمَ فِيمَا اجْتَمَعَ مِنَ الْفَضْلِ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا - وَغَيْرِهِمَا ، وَرِجَالُ الصَّغِيرِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I entered Paradise and heard someone's footsteps ahead of me. I asked: O Jibril! Whose footsteps are these? He replied: This is Bilal, who is walking ahead of you."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir, and he recorded something similar in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Imam Ahmad recorded it within a long hadith which has passed earlier in the chapter on the combined virtues of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and others. The narrators of al-Mu'jam al-Saghir are thiqat (trustworthy).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir, and he recorded something similar in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Imam Ahmad recorded it within a long hadith which has passed earlier in the chapter on the combined virtues of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and others. The narrators of al-Mu'jam al-Saghir are thiqat (trustworthy).
