عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ ثُمَامَةَ بْنَ أُثَالٍ - أَوْ أُثَالَةَ - أَسْلَمَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " اذْهَبُوا بِهِ إِلَى حَائِطِ بَنِي فُلَانٍ ، فَمُرُوهُ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ وَزَادَ : " بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ " .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Thumamah bin Uthal (the narrator is in doubt; perhaps the words are: Uthalah) accepted Islam, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take him to the garden of Banu so-and-so, and instruct him to take a ritual bath (ghusl).
Imam Ahmad and Imam al-Bazzar recorded it, and he (al-Bazzar) recorded these additional words in it: With water and lote-tree leaves (let him take the ritual bath).
