وَعَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ قَالَ : جَالَسْتُ سَبْعِينَ أَوْ ثَمَانِينَ شَيْخًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَا أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ خَالَفَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ فَيَلْتَقِيَانِ إِلَّا قَالَ : الْقَوْلُ كَمَا قُلْتَ ، أَوْ قَالَ : صَدَقْتَ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Abd al-Malik bin Maysarah narrated this statement of Tawus: I have sat with 70 (the narrator is unsure, or perhaps the words are:) 80 elderly Companions, and not one of them would hold an opinion contrary to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both); when the two met, the other would say: The position is as you have said; or he would say: You have spoken the truth.
