قَالَ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ : الْمُغِيرَةُ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ ، أَسْلَمَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ ، لَقِيَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي الطَّرِيقِ ، وَكَانَ مِمَّنْ ثَبَتَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ ، تُوُفِّيَ سَنَةَ عِشْرِينَ .
Imam al-Tabarani says: This is Sayyiduna al-Mughirah Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) bin al-Harith bin Abd al-Muttalib bin Hashim. He accepted Islam on the occasion of the Conquest of Makkah; he had met the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the way. He was among those who stood firm with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at the Battle of Hunayn. He passed away in 20 AH.
