عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ بَكَّارٍ قَالَ : كَانَتْ صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ لَا تُغَطِّي رَأْسَهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَلَا مِنْ عَشَرَةٍ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ الْأَوَّلِينَ : حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ أَخُوهَا ، وَجَعْفَرٌ وَعَلِيٌّ ابْنَا أَبِي طَالِبٍ ابْنَا أَخِيهَا ، وَالزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ ابْنُهَا ، وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ ابْنُ ابْنَةِ أَخِيهَا ، أَمُّهُ أَرْوَى بِنْتُ كُرَيْزٍ ، وَأُمُّهَا الْبَيْضَاءُ أُمُّ حَكِيمٍ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَسَدِ وَأَبُو سَبْرَةَ بْنُ أَبِي رُهْمٍ ابْنَا أُخْتِهَا بَرَّةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، وَأُمِّ طُلَيْبِ بْنِ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ وَهْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ بْنِ قُصَيٍّ : أَرْوَى بِنْتُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، وَأُمُّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ .وَأَبِي أَحْمَدَ الْأَعْمَى الشَّاعِرِ اسْمُهُ عَبْدُ بْنُ جَحْشِ بْنِ رِئَابِ بْنِ يَعْمَرَ بْنِ صَبْرَةَ بْنِ مُرَّةَ بْنِ كَثِيرِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ وَرْدَانَ بْنِ أَسَدِ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ، أُمَيْمَةُ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ . تُوُفِّيَتْ صَفِيَّةُ فِي خِلَافَةِ عُمَرَ .
قُلْتُ : وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَتْ قِصَّةُ قَتْلِهَا الْيَهُودِيَّ فِي قُرَيْظَةَ وَغَزْوَةِ أُحُدٍ أَيْضًا ، وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ .
قُلْتُ : وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَتْ قِصَّةُ قَتْلِهَا الْيَهُودِيَّ فِي قُرَيْظَةَ وَغَزْوَةِ أُحُدٍ أَيْضًا ، وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ .
Al-Zubayr bin Bakkar narrates: Sayyidah Safiyyah bint Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with her) did not cover her head when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came, nor when any of ten men from the earliest Muhajirun came. (These ten men are:) "Sayyiduna Hamzah bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him), who is this lady's brother; Sayyiduna Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), who are both sons of Abu Talib and this lady's nephews; Sayyiduna al-Zubayr bin al-Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him), who is this lady's son; Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), who is the son of this lady's niece: the mother of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) is Arwa bint Kurayz, and her mother is al-Bayda' Umm Hakim bint Abd al-Muttalib; Abu Salamah bin Abd al-Asad and Abu Sabrah bin Abi Ruhm, who are both sons of Barrah bint Abd al-Muttalib, the sister of Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her); and the mother of Tulayb bin Umayr bin Wahb bin Abd bin Qusayy is Arwa bint Abd al-Muttalib; and Abdullah, and the blind poet Abu Ahmad, whose name is Abd bin Jahsh bin Ri'ab bin Ya'mar bin Sabrah bin Murrah bin Kathir bin Ghanm bin Wardan bin Asad bin Khuzaymah; (the mother of these two) is Umaymah bint Abd al-Muttalib." Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) passed away during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The incident of Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) killing a Jew has already passed in the chapter concerning the battle with Qurayzah and the Battle of Uhud; and Allah knows best.
