وَعَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ : تَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ خُزَيْمَةَ الْهِلَالِيَّةَ أُمَّ الْمَسَاكِينِ ، كَانَتْ قَبْلَهُ عِنْدَ الْحُصَيْنِ - أَوْ عِنْدَ الطُّفَيْلِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ - مَاتَتْ بِالْمَدِينَةِ ، أَوَّلُ نِسَائِهِ مَوْتًا . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Muhammad bin Ishaq says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married Sayyidah Zaynab bint Khuzaymah al-Hilaliyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), who is Umm al-Masakin (Mother of the Poor). Before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), she was married to al-Husayn (the narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are) al-Tufayl bin al-Harith. This lady passed away in Madinah. Among the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), she was the first to pass away.
