وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ : مَا تَزَوَّجَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - حَتَّى أَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ بِصُورَتِي ، فَقَالَ : هَذِهِ زَوْجَتُكَ . وَلَقَدْ تَزَوَّجَنِي وَإِنِّي لَجَارِيَةٌ عَلَى حَوْفٍ ، فَلَمَّا تَزَوَّجَنِي أَوْقَعَ اللَّهُ عَلَيَّ الْحَيَاءَ . رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِاخْتِصَارٍ ، وَفِيهِ أَبُو سَعْدٍ الْبَقَّالُ ، وَهُوَ مُدَلِّسٌ .
Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not marry me until Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) brought him my image and said: "This is your wife." When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married me, I was a young girl and wore the dress of young girls. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had married me, Allah Almighty placed modesty upon me.
Abu Ya'la recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it in abridged form; its chain contains a narrator, Abu Sa'd al-Baqqal, who is a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain).
