Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 15133

Al-Muttalib bin Abdullah bin Hantab said: When Sayyiduna Imam Husayn bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) was surrounded, he asked: "What is the name of this place?" He was told: "Karbala." He said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke the truth: it is a land of karb (distress) and bala (affliction)."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Ya'qub bin Humayd bin Kasib, who is da'if (weak), though he has also been declared trustworthy.
