Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) asked my permission to set out. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "Were it not that this would bring reproach upon me or upon you, I would have gripped your head with my fingers (to hold you back)." He replied to me, saying: "That I be killed at such-and-such a place is dearer to me than that the sanctuary of Allah and His Messenger be violated because of me." The narrator says: That is what consoled me about him.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
