قَالَ ابْنُ إِسْحَاقَ : هُوَ عَامِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ بْنِ هِلَالِ بْنِ أُهَيْبِ بْنِ ضُبَّةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ فِهْرٍ ، لَمْ يُعَقِّبْ .
وَأُمُّ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ : أُمُّ غَنْمٍ بِنْتِ جَابِرِ بْنِ عُدَيِّ بْنِ الْعَدَّاءِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ عُمَيْرَةَ بْنِ وَدِيعَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ فِهْرٍ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرَوَى عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ بَعْضَ ذَلِكَ ، وَرِجَالُهُمَا ثِقَاتٌ .

رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرَوَى عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ بَعْضَ ذَلِكَ ، وَرِجَالُهُمَا ثِقَاتٌ .
Ibn Ishaq narrates (the name and lineage of Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him) are as follows:) He is Sayyiduna Amir bin Abdullah bin al-Jarrah bin Hilal bin Uhayb bin Dabbah bin al-Harith bin Fihr; he had no children. The name of the mother of Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him) is Umm Ghanm bint Jabir bin Udayy bin al-Adda' bin Amir bin Umayrah bin Wadi'ah bin al-Harith bin Fihr.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration. He also recorded part of it from Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah, and the narrators of both are thiqat (trustworthy).
