Amir bin Sa'd narrates: Once Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) was walking along when he passed by a man who was reviling Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "You are reviling people for whom (virtue) has already gone ahead from Allah Almighty. By Allah! Either you will stop reviling them, or I will supplicate to Allah Almighty against you." The man said: "He is frightening me as though he were a prophet!" Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Allah! If this man is reviling people for whom (good) has already gone ahead from You, then make him an example this very day." The narrator says: Just then a Bactrian she-camel came, the people scattered because of it, and the she-camel trampled that man. I saw the people hurrying after Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), saying: "O Abu Ishaq! Allah Almighty has answered your supplication."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
