عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ قَالَ : قُتِلَ الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ يَوْمَ الْجَمَلِ فِي جُمَادَى - لَا أَدْرِي الْأُولَى أَوِ الْآخِرَةُ - سَنَةَ سِتٍّ وَثَلَاثِينَ .
وَأَخْبَرَنِي اللَّيْثُ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ عُرْوَةُ : أَنَّ الزُّبَيْرَ أَسْلَمَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَمَانِ سِنِينَ ، وَكَانَ يُكَنَّى أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَقَامَ بِمَكَّةَ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً فَهُوَ يَوْمَ قُتِلَ ابْنُ سَبْعٍ وَخَمْسِينَ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ أَقَامَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ ، فَالزُّبَيْرُ ابْنُ أَرْبَعٍ وَخَمْسِينَ سَنَةً .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
وَأَخْبَرَنِي اللَّيْثُ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ عُرْوَةُ : أَنَّ الزُّبَيْرَ أَسْلَمَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَمَانِ سِنِينَ ، وَكَانَ يُكَنَّى أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَقَامَ بِمَكَّةَ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً فَهُوَ يَوْمَ قُتِلَ ابْنُ سَبْعٍ وَخَمْسِينَ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ أَقَامَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ ، فَالزُّبَيْرُ ابْنُ أَرْبَعٍ وَخَمْسِينَ سَنَةً .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Yahya bin Bukayr narrates: Sayyiduna al-Zubayr bin al-Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred at the Battle of the Camel in the month of Jumada, in the year 36 AH; I do not know whether it was Jumada al-Ula or Jumada al-Akhirah. Al-Layth reported from Abu al-Aswad that Urwah told him that when Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam he was eight years old, and his kunyah was Abu Abdullah. If the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Makkah for thirteen years, then at the time of his martyrdom Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) would have been fifty-seven years old; and if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Makkah for ten years, then Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) would have been fifty-four years old.
