Sayyiduna Salim (may Allah be pleased with him), the servant of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrates: The wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to make the hair of their heads into four braids, and when they were about to bathe, they would gather them in the middle of their heads and would not undo them.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Umar bin Harun, whom most people declared da'if (weak), while Qutaybah and others declared him thiqah (trustworthy).
