وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ إِجَارَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ : أَنَا أَذُودُ عَنْ حَوْضِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بِيَدَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ الْقَصِيرَتَيْنِ الْكُفَّارَ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ كَمَا تَذُودُ السُّقَاةُ غَرِيبَةَ الْإِبِلِ عَنْ حِيَاضِهِمْ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Abdullah bin Ijarah bin Qays narrates: I heard the Commander of the Faithful, Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), saying on the pulpit: "With these two short hands of mine I will drive the disbelievers and the hypocrites away from the Pond of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), just as the water-drawers drive strange camels away from their troughs."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Muhammad bin Qudamah al-Jawhari, who is da'if (weak).
