وَعَنْ سَلْمَى - امْرَأَةِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ - أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : إِنِّي لَمَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بِالْأَسْوَاقِ ، فَقَالَ : " لَيَطْلُعَنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ " . إِذْ سَمِعْتُ الْخَشَفَةَ فَإِذَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الرَّافِعِيُّ ذَكَرَهُ ابْنُ أَبِي حَاتِمٍ وَلَمْ يُجَرِّحْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ وُثِّقُوا وَفِي بَعْضِهِمْ خِلَافٌ .

Salma, the wife of Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates: I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at the place called "Aswaq", and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A person from the people of Paradise will appear before you." The narrator (Salma) says: Meanwhile I heard the sound of someone approaching, and Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) appeared.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Muhammad bin al-Fadl al-Rafi'i, whom Ibn Abi Hatim mentioned without criticising him; the remaining narrators of this report have been declared trustworthy, though there is disagreement about some of them.
