Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) being given glad tidings of Paradise

عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَطْلُعُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ تَحْتِ هَذَا الصُّورِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ " . قَالَ : فَطَلَعَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، فَهَنَّأْنَاهُ بِمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - . ثُمَّ لَبِثَ هُنَيْهَةً ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " يَطْلُعُ مِنْ تَحْتِ هَذَا الصُّورِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ " . فَطَلَعَ عُمَرُ ، فَهَنَّأْنَاهُ بِمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - . ثُمَّ قَالَ : " يَطْلُعُ مِنْ تَحْتِ هَذَا الصُّورِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ شِئْتَ جَعَلْتَهُ عَلِيًّا " . ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ قَالَ : فَطَلَعَ عَلِيٌّ .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "From beneath these palm trees a man from the people of Paradise will appear before you." The narrator says: Then Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) appeared, and we congratulated him on what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had said. Then, after a little while, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "From beneath these palm trees a man from the people of Paradise will appear." Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) appeared, and we congratulated him on what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had said. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "From beneath these palm trees a man from the people of Paradise will appear. O Allah, if You will, make him Ali!" He said this three times, and then Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) appeared.
