عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ : يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِلَّا عَلَى أَمِيرِهَا وَشَرِيفِهَا ، وَلَقَدْ عَاتَبَ اللَّهُ أَصْحَابَ مُحَمَّدٍ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي غَيْرِ مَكَانٍ ، وَمَا ذَكَرَ عَلِيًّا إِلَّا بِخَيْرٍ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عِيسَى بْنُ رَاشِدٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Whenever Allah Almighty revealed "O you who believe", Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was the leader and the most honoured of the believers. Allah Almighty reproached the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in more than one place, but He mentioned Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) only with good.
